Short Sales

An increasing number of homeowners are caught in a credit crunch, unable to keep up with house payments. A "short sale" is selling the property for less than the amount still owed on the mortgage. If your mortgage is in default, your lender may agree to accept the proceeds of the sale as satisfaction of your debt. I negotiate directly with your lender to convince them to accept this limited recovery rather than foreclosing on the property. The lender is paid sooner and my clients avoid foreclosure or bankruptcy.

I also advise clients who are considering buying a short sale home, ensuring there are no remaining mortgage liens — or claims by other creditors.
